ATHYMIA

You are an Eidolon in the NexSpire, a city on the edge of nowhere. On a mission to collect paper files from an abandoned medical facility, you encounter the strangest soul you've ever met, consumed in their own organic spiral.

ATHYMIA is a short "demo" for a potentially-larger project about a human being with a mutated virus and a death wish.

Made in three days for the November Yandere Jam, because I thought that was a good idea. Then I missed the deadline. #SHOUTOUT. This is a yandere game. #SORRY

This is meant to function as a "Day 0" sort of situation for a potentially larger project should there be interest. Otherwise, I'll go back to writing gay robots with religious themes and mommy issues. I'll be doing that either way, so if that isn't what you like, then you aren't winning.

CREDITS

• Photographs used are from public domain, Unsplash under the Unsplash license, or are taken by me.
• Music by Zack Valence. Most of these tracks are for upcoming projects. Soundtrack will eventually be replaced with new music.
• V1R4L's sitting CG is a paint-over of this image mostly for fun/style purposes.
• Sound effect between passages is taken from Videotome ADV by communistsister. I wanted to originally make this game in Videotome, but I was ultimately unable to learn the engine in time for the jam's end.  I'll be using my own sound soon.

These characters and this setting were originally meant for a sort of endless runner shooter game I want to make when I learn other development skills like 3D modeling and programming in an engine that actually likes 3D. Whether or not that comes to be is currently a mystery.

Note: Viral uses they/he pronouns, which is why some sentences refer to them in different ways.
